The Garner Performing Arts Center presents "Divine & Dexterous," a soaring tribute to Sarah Vaughan and Dexter Gordon featuring the extraordinary Camille Thurman with the Christian Tamburr Quartet. A powerhouse tenor saxophonist and vocalist, and the first woman in about three decades to tour full-time with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Thurman moves effortlessly between horn and voice. DownBeat put it best: "Imagine if Sarah Vaughan played saxophone like Dexter Gordon." Expect swinging classics, tender ballads, and fearless improvisation.
