Salem Poetry Project Featuring Benjamin Gorman

About this event

Benjamin Gorman (he/him) is an award-winning teacher, activist, author, poet, publisher at Not a Pipe Publishing, and a founding board member of Publishing Professionals Against Book Bans. He’s also the host of the Writers Not Writing podcast and the editor of the Antifa Lit Journal. His novels are The Sum of Our Gods, Corporate High School, The Digital Storm: A Science Fiction Reimagining of William Shakespeare’s The Tempest, and The Convention of Fiends trilogy beginning with Book 1: Don’t Read This Book, continuing in Book 2: You Were Warned, and concluding in Book 3: You People Are Monsters. He's also written two poetry collections, When She Leaves Me and This Uneven Universe, and one non-fiction book, Dear America: A Breakup Letter. He lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife, Chrys, their wolf, Havoc, and the puppies, Merry and Pippin. The Salem Poetry Project continues at the Bush Barn Annex, 600 Mission St SE, Salem. Parking for the Bush Barn and Bush House is located off of High Street and the Annex entrance is just to the left of the main entrance. Each week will present a featured reader followed by the Infamous Open Mic: 3 poems or five minutes whichever is first. Featured reader begins at 7:00 and the open mic will directly follow.
