About this event
This one-hour presentation focuses on the risks teen drivers (ages 14-18) face and the habits that can help prevent crashes and serious injuries. Topics include distracted driving, speeding, seat belt use, impaired driving, passenger-related distractions, and defensive driving skills. The program encourages responsible decision-making and provides teens with practical strategies for becoming safe and confident drivers. Presented by Megan Hawkins, BSN, RN, Trauma Injury Prevention Coordinator. *Please note: This program is not to be confused with the DETS course which is mandatory for FL teens ages 15 to 17 who are applying for their learner's permit.
