Play Want to play in a band? Our Rock Star for a Day Camp is designed for beginners 7 - 10 years of age. No experience necessary! Students will explore their instruments through musical games and activities. Students will learn songs by artists such as the White Stripes, Green Day and Imagine Dragons (song selection will vary by location). Our nurturing environment makes this the perfect camp for budding musicians. Students will work on one or two songs and the camp will culminate in a short concert at the end of the day for family and friends. OPEN TO STUDENTS AGE 7 - 10 No Previous Experience Required CAMP HOURS 9:30AM - 3:30PM, Performance at 3pm HERE IS WHAT A TYPICAL DAY OF CAMP LOOKS LIKE: Band members will be cast on and learn 1 to 2 songs, depending on how much they can handle as a band. At the end of the day, the kids will perform a brief live rock concert in the afternoon for family and friends! The song(s) will be decided first thing in the morning after students are introduced to each other and the staff. We will do our best to gauge what the kids are interested and what will help each of them progress the most as musicians. DAILY ACTIVITIES OUR ROCK STAR FOR A DAY CAMPERS WILL PARTAKE IN: Team building exercises, games, and trivia contests to learn about fellow "band mate" campers and our camp directors. Sectional by instrument to cover the fundamentals of playing music in a band setting. Stage presence exercises. The end of the camp day culminates in a live performance! STUDENTS MUST BRING AND WEAR HEARING PROTECTION AT ALL TIMES WITHIN OUR REHEARSAL ROOMS. Rock music is intended to be played loud and we want to make sure our campers ears are well protected!
