About this event

Find yourself dreaming of electric sheep? Come play in our robot sandbox! A new monthly program for students in grades 3-8, Robot Sandbox is an opportunity to experiment, play, and pursue personal projects using the Innovation & Learning Center’s robotics materials, such as Lego Mindstorms and WeDo kits, Edison robots, Spheros, and more (for a full list of available materials, visit the our makerlab page), with instructor assistance. Learners should be able to work and read independently and come with their imaginations ready to create! Robot Sandbox attendees will also be able to work on their Mindstorms projects in our weekly Lego Dream & Design club. Registration is requested so that materials can be prepared before arrival. a “sandbox,” in software, refers to a testing environment to refine or experiment with code – just like on the playground, where the temporary and mutable nature of sand allows for endlessly-changing play. As a place to play and learn, we hope Robot Sandbox will channel both “sandbox” concepts!
