## Recess. Time for Singles. **Welcome to Recess — a social club for singles who want to meet people in real life.** Meetup is one of the places I cross-post Recess events, but **Eventbrite is my primary ticketing platform**, so the number of people you see on Meetup does **not** represent the total number attending. I also prioritize creating a good experience over simply filling a room. **I don't run events with fewer than 6 attendees, and I aim for a 60/40 gender balance or better** whenever possible. If an event doesn't meet those minimums, I may cancel or reschedule it. ### 🤖💘 HOW IT WORKS **Robot Cupid is putting real-life chemistry to the test—with a little help from science.** Matching will be powered by **Matchbox**, a matchmaking software that uses relationship science to identify your most compatible match at the event. The Matchbox algorithm has matched **more than 500,000 people across 40 countries** and is designed to optimize for **long-term compatibility based on values**, rather than simply matching you based on looks or a quick first impression. **1\. Take the questionnaire\.** When you arrive, you'll complete a matching questionnaire developed by Matchbox's team of relationship scientists and curated specifically for Robot Cupid. **2\. Meet the humans\.** Then comes the fun part: mingle, talk, laugh, and meet the other singles in the room. Your match isn't based on a photo or a swipe—you'll actually get a chance to interact. **3\. Let the algorithm do its thing\.** Matchbox uses relationship science, AI, and insights from Nobel Prize-winning economics to identify your most compatible match in the room. **4\.
