Codie Eash, SRMEC Director of Education and Interpretation, will present “The Lutheran Seminary in the Battle of Gettysburg” at the Lee-Fendall House Museum & Garden (614 Oronoco Street, Alexandria, VA 22314). Tickets are $15 and the program begins at 2:00pm on Sunday, November 22. The Lutheran Theological Seminary moved to the western side of Gettysburg in 1832, followed three decades later by national debates that tore apart the United States and divided the institution. As the Battle of Gettysburg opened on July 1, 1863, the Civil War came to the Seminary's door, leaving in its wake hundreds of wounded soldiers, thousands of dollars of property damage, and countless stories of heroism and horror.
