About this event

Join us for the first of three events honoring Agatha Christie, the Queen of Crime. 2026 marks 50 years since the death of Agatha Christie, the best-selling fiction writer of all time. Directed by Kenneth Branagh, A Haunting in Venice is a chilling mystery based on Agatha Christie’s novel Hallowe’en Party. Set in post‑war Venice, the film follows detective Hercule Poirot as he is drawn out of retirement to attend a séance in a crumbling palazzo. The evening begins to spiral into a web of secrets, suspicion, and supernatural dread. This atmospheric whodunit blends classic Christie intrigue with gothic thrills, perfect for a haunting autumn night. Our second event will be September 2--A lecture and discussion with Dr. Casey Kayser, U of A English professor and Agatha Christie superfan. For disability accommodations, call 479.856.7250 or email questions@faylib.org 2-3 weekdays before a program. Plan your visit by viewing our building map and details on accessibility services.
