Reed Timmer

Dr. Reed Timmer is an extreme meteorologist and renowned storm chaser with a PhD in meteorology from the University of Oklahoma, known for intercepting some of the world?s most powerful storms to collect scientific data. Over his career, he has chased more than 1,000 tornadoes and 50 hurricanes, making him one of the few people to pursue both an EF5 tornado and a Category 5 hurricane. He invented the armored ?Dominator? storm-chasing vehicles to gather data from inside severe storms and has pioneered advanced sensor deployment methods using probes, drones, balloons, and rockets. In addition to his field research, Timmer provides real-time storm coverage and safety updates through media platforms while continuing his work with National Geographic and RadarOmega.
