About this event

@ The Sedona Heritage Museum will host another round of their popular annual local history tours, on September 23-26, visiting historic sites, homesteads, and buildings along the Red Rock Loop Road. “Red Rock” was the original name for the area around the base of Cathedral Rock long before anyone ever heard of the name “Sedona.” Sedona Heritage Museum historians will share stories of early settlers, wine history, homesteading, irrigation and water rights, and so much more. Tour participants will learn about the origins of Red Rock State Park and the House of Apache Fire within the park, built by aviation innovator Jack Frye and his artist wife, Helen. This guided and fully narrated tour will visit the Chavez homestead, Dumas Ranch, Schuerman-Red Rock Cemetery, Schuerman Homestead House, the Armijo homestead house, the site of an early Oak Creek vineyard where Arizona’s winery industry started, Crescent Moon Ranch, and more. Tour participants will have an opportunity to get off the coaches at various stops to explore some sites on foot and stretch their legs. Tours are from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. $75 for SHM members and $85 for non-members. Space is limited on small touring vans with climate control and large panoramic windows. These tours always SELL OUT, so stop by the Museum now to get your tickets or call us at 928-282-7038. Add to calendar Google Calendar iCalendar Outlook 365 Outlook Live
