About this event
Join Red Light Lit Austin at Something Cool Studios on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 6–7 PM for a free, welcoming poetry workshop led by Loria Mendoza, MFA, author of The Body Can Tolerate and Life’s Too Short (loriamendoza.com). Whether you’re a seasoned writer or just curious about putting words on a page, this accessible, one-hour gathering is a chance to connect with fellow creatives, read a poem together for inspiration, and explore your own voice through a guided writing prompt. No experience necessary, just bring yourself and an open mind! Stick around afterward for the Red Light Lit Austin Poetry Burlesque & Open Mic, from 7–8:30 PM, featuring an evening of poetry, performance, and creative community. Free admission. All creative levels welcome. Ages 18+. This project is supported in part by an Elevate Grant of Austin Arts, Culture, Music, and Entertainment.
