Multi-Purpose Room. Gain practical, lifesaving skills through this free series of presentations from the American Red Cross. Each session focuses on a different emergency preparedness topic, providing simple, actionable information to help individuals and families stay safe before, during, and after an emergency. Each class requires seperate registration. Please only register for each class you plan to attend. 10/23 Hands-Only CPR – Having more trained bystanders can help save lives by putting more cardiac arrest victims within a few steps of lifesaving assistance. In this class, you’ll learn how to perform hands-only CPR. 1/22 Carbon Monoxide Poisoning – Carbon monoxide (CO) is an odorless, colorless gas that kills without warning. Learn the symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning, alarms and detectors for monitoring carbon monoxide levels and the steps needed when you suspect your home has been compromised. 2/26 Disaster & Emergency Preparedness – Be Red Cross ready! Learn what to do to prepare for an emergency, know how to respond while the emergency is happening and lastly, know how to recover when the emergency is over. 3/26 Home Fires – Every second counts when there’s a home fire. Reduce the risk of dying from home fires with planning and a few simple steps. 4/23 Floods – Floods are the most frequent natural disaster in our country. Learn the steps to take before, during and after flooding. 5/28 Extreme Heat – Extreme heat has a cascading impact especially when power outages occur. Prepare so you, your loved ones and your pets are safe during extreme heat.
