Red Bird Chapbooks: Books to Zines β Histories, Hands, and the Pamphlet Stitch
Red Bird Chapbooks: Books to Zines β Histories, Hands, and the Pamphlet Stitch at Room 424 in Saint Paul, MN on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
This workshop introduces participants to the history of book arts and zines as an artform and as tools for storytelling, resistance, and community-building. Participants will learn the 3-hole pamphlet stitch and leave with a hand-bound publication of their own. There is no cost to participate in this workshop; however as space is limited, if you sign up we do expect you to attend, or let us know with at least 72 hour notice that you cannot be in attendance. Register here! Instructor Bio Essence Enwere is a multidisciplinary artist and designer based in Minneapolis, working across graphic design, typography, and book arts. Their practice explores ecology, Black genealogy, and storytelling, often using printmaking and book arts as a way to connect cultural memory with contemporary design and collage. This workshop is supported, in part, by the City of Saint Paul Cultural Sales Tax Revitalization Program.
