Tell a story to a Furry Friend! Children are invited to practice reading to gentle, trained assistance dogs who love books! The main objective of this program is to provide a relaxed and “dog-friendly” atmosphere, which allows students to practice the skill of reading. By sitting down next to a dog and reading to the dog, all threats of being judged are put aside: the child relaxes, pats the attentive dog, and focuses on the reading. This program occurs on the 1st Saturday of each month. This program is presented by: Furry Friends Pet Assisted Therapy Services Please do not bring your own personal dogs, or pets. Free. No registration required. ¡Cuéntale un cuento a un amigo mascota! Invitamos a los niños a practicar la lectura con perros de asistencia amables y entrenados ¡a los que les encantan los libros! El objetivo principal de este programa es ofrecer un ambiente relajado y acogedor para los perros, permitiendo así que los estudiantes practiquen sus habilidades de lectura. Al sentarse junto a un perro y leerle, desaparece el temor a ser juzgados: el niño se relaja, acaricia al atento animal y se concentra en la lectura.
