The Writer’s Center welcomes contributors to Amsterdam Quarterly for a reading and open mic in celebration of the latest issue. Readers include Claudia Gary, Bari Lynn Hein, and AQ editor Bryan R. Monte FREE & open to the public. RSVP below. About Amsterdam Quarterly Founded in April 2011, Amsterdam Quarterly’s goal is to publish, promote, and comment on writing and art in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and the world. She lives near Washington DC and teaches Sonnets, Villanelles, Natural Meter, Persona Poems, Poetry vs. Trauma, etc., at The Writer’s Center (writer.org) and privately, via Zoom. Also the author of Humor Me (2006) and chapbooks including Genetic Revisionism (2019), Claudia is an advisory editor for New Verse Review, health/science writer, visual artist, and composer of tonal art songs and chamber music. Bari Lynn Hein was the winner of the 2024 Bethesda Short Story Contest, a finalist in the 2018 Saturday Evening Post Great American Fiction Contest, and a semifinalist in contests sponsored by CutBank and Phoebe. Her stories are published in dozens of journals worldwide, among them Folio Journal, Prime Number, Amsterdam Quarterly, Mslexia, and The Baltimore Review, as well as four anthologies.
