Read to Dream Experience
The Read to Dream Experience brings families together to explore how books help children imagine, reflect, and dream. Created for children from birth to age 10, each session includes interactive storytelling, guided discussion, and creative activities that connect reading to personal goals and ideas. In partnership with The Young Dreamers’ Bookstore, the program centers children’s voices and supports families in building reader identity, imagination, and aspiration. The selected books feature protagonists of African descent from around the world, offering representation and a global perspective. The Read to Dream Experience is a new monthly educational residency at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center, launching January 24. Sessions take place monthly from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.. The story time portion begins at 11:15am & 1:15pm. Each program will feature a unique theme and hands-on activities designed to engage children and families. The theme of the inaugural session is “Our Dreams Make the World Better.”
