About this event
Fletcher Room, Main Library. Join UVM's BLUE program for a how to workshop on creating a rain garden. Rain gardens improve water quality in Burlington by capturing stormwater runoff from residential properties and reducing the amount of sediment and nutrients that reach local waterways such as Lake Champlain. In this workshop, participants will learn how rain gardens function, how to identify suitable locations on a residential property, and the key considerations involved in rain garden design. The workshop will include a presentation followed by a hands-on activity in which participants will have the opportunity to practice selecting a location and developing a design for their own residential rain garden.
