Queer-tucky Derby Party

Come together, dressed to the nines, to celebrate spring, life and the joy of community. And the right to look and feel fabulous! For the last 152 years, fabulous dames, dandies and dapper Dans have spent a day dressed to impress to watch horses run one and quarter miles in about 2 minutes. For horse race fans, it’s the first of the first race triple crown, for all the rest, it is the first time we come together, dust off our bright colors, don our best hats and share some time and tasty drinks. This year the Balcony has decided to provide the venue for a local Kentucky Derby party, complete with Derby race coverage, classic mint juleps and more! The Kentucky horse race coverage, Biggest Hat contest, Best Dressed Contest and drink specials start at 3 p.m.. The final race post time is scheduled for 4:57 p.m., so you can take your amazing outfits out to dinner. If you are still in the dancing mood…come back later that night.
