Put Your Story In A Book Launch Party

We invite friends, family, community members and visitors to Austin, to a launch party celebrating Moments into Meaning: Memories of Love, Loss, and Living In Between, the first book published by Put It In A Book! About the launch: Join us for lite bites as we celebrate our community writers! Stay to listen as they read selections from their stories written for the anthology. Copies of the anthology, Moments Into Meaning: Memories of Love, Loss, and Living In Between, will be available for sale at the event for $20. ASL interpretation will be available for the reading portion of the event. Moments Into Meaning: Memories of Love, Loss, and Living In Between is an anthology that now belongs to all of us. It honors storytelling not only as an art form, but also an act of social justice and a way to claim space, preserve identity, and build bridges between people who might never have met otherwise. Established in 2021, Put It In A Book is a 501(c)3 dedicated to promoting diversity, inclusion, and representation through literature. Not only does PIIAB represent the untold stories of marginalized and underrepresented groups, but it also embodies a voice for those stories yet to be written. Born from this mission, Put Your Story In A Book: A Community Writing Program was created to uplift the Austin community by leveraging resources from our city, and gathering in local literary spaces that embody resilience and creativity. Under the facilitation and mentorship of Amanda Johnston, Texas' 61st Poet Laureate, our community writers had confirmed that their experiences are not only valid, but essential to our collective record.
