About this event
Update. Saturdays weather is looking great for pumpkin carving. High of 58 around mid afternoon. To take advantage of the best temperature of the day and several hours of daylight, I am moving up the time for potluck and pumpkin carving to 3 pm. Do please make note of the time change. If for some reason you can’t make 3 pm, suggest coming as soon as possible after 3 pm. Let me know if this time change creates a problem for anyone. If you can’t make 3 pm, join us as soon as you can. This way as the temperature begins to fall, we will be done carving and sitting around the fire pit keeping warm and roasting marshmallows. Also some of you have not posted what you are bringing for potluck. Please post it asap. Reminder to bring your beverage of choice, a lawn chair, and a pumpkin to carve. You do not need to bring carving tools. I have plenty for everyone to use. That way everyone’s tools do not get mixed up. Remember to dress in layers as the temperature drops quickly at night. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Address will be sent out Friday evening. Pumpkin carving, fire pit, pot luck. Dress warm as we will be carving outside and bring a lawn chair to sit by the fire pit. Bring a dish to share. Bring a large pumpkin to carve and a candle to put inside to light it up once carved. Battery operated light or tea light candle will work. If you have carving pattern books and carving tools, bring them. If you’ve never carved a pumpkin using a pattern, they are simple or intricate patterns that come out great. Even for novices. If you don’t have any, I have some. I will have brats to cook on fire and hot apple cider. And s’mores. Let me know what you are bringing to avoid duplicates.
