About this event
Federally funded research increasingly comes with requirements to share publications and data publicly, immediately, and without embargo. But complying gets complicated when funder policies, publisher agreements, copyright, and publishing fees intersect. This session focuses on process, not policy. You'll learn how to navigate the requirements that apply to your specific project and leave with a decision-making framework you can apply with confidence before choosing a journal or signing a publishing agreement, while you still have room to negotiate. By the end, you'll be able to: Find your funder's public-access requirements Evaluate a journal's policies before you submit Spot publishing fees (APCs) and know what CSU resources can help Retain the rights you need to comply Respond when a publisher's terms conflict with your funder's mandate
