This event is taking place as part of SMCL's 4th Annual Indie Author Fest. Millie Abecassis is a writer of adult speculative fiction born and raised in France. She is a graduate of the Panthéon-Sorbonne University and now works in the pharmaceutical industry in South San Francisco. She is the author of multiple novels, novellas, novelettes and short stories published with small publishers. Beyond her writing, Millie is the founder of #SmallPitch and the co-founder of the Small Spec Book Awards, two initiatives aiming at supporting writers and small publishers. She lives, writes and roleplays in the San Francisco Bay Area alongside her two cats, nine bags of dice (she counted), and more loose leaf tea than any human can reasonably drink in one lifetime. After getting a BA in Literature and working in publishing for a decade, she now works as a project manager and content editor in nonprofit fundraising. For over eight years, she’s been playing tabletop roleplaying games and has written numerous campaigns and adventures. Her self-proclaimed crowning achievement is a one-shot romp titled “To Flavortown and Back Again,” featuring villains Guy Fae-eri and his sidekick “saucerer,” plus a jukebox mimic in a diner.
