Printmaking for Teens: Linocutting

This three-part Teen Lab series gives teens the opportunity to see the creative process through from ideation to creation. They’ll get hands-on experience with printmaking by designing a pattern, carving linoleum, and making ink. Each part of the series will be led by a Walters Art Museum staff member who will answer questions from teens along the way about the creative process, printmaking, and working in a museum. October 1: Pattern Design with Elizabeth Norman, Assistant Manager of Gallery Experience & Interpretation November 5: Linocut Reliefs with Adam Franchino, Lead Art Handler December 3: Making Ink with Annette Ortiz, Conservation Scientist Teen Lab is a space for teens to hang out, create art, and make friends. During this program, teens participate in creative activities, explore different cultures through art, and check out our galleries. Ages 13-18. About the Staff As the museum’s Lead Art Handler, Adam Franchino transports art throughout the museum and builds mounts for artwork displays. In his spare time, Adam is also pursuing a personal art practice in printmaking.
