In this playful workshop, you'll create a series of colorful stencil monotype portraits inspired by someone you love. Using paper stencils, you'll build a portrait by layering shapes and colors with printmaking ink on a plexiglass plate before running each print through a printing press. The result is a monotype print that captures your subject in a vibrant, graphic style. To make the evening even more festive, Highpoint will provide complimentary champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, and a Valentine's-themed photo booth to capture the memories. Whether you're celebrating with a partner or friend, this workshop is a fun, creative way to make art and enjoy the holiday together. About the instructor: Josh Bindewald (he/him) is a Minnesota artist and printmaker. He has taught numerous courses, classes, and workshops in each of the foundational printmaking techniques including relief, lithography, screenprinting, intaglio and more ant various institution and locations. His artistic practice is inclusive, but he primarily works on paper with special preference for intaglio, screenprinting, painting, drawing, and collage. A self-described maximalist, his artwork is the result of filtering the stimuli of the modern world through his thoughtful and curious perspective. Josh has a BFA in studio art from The University of Wisconsin-Stout and an MFA from Bradley University. He is the Director of Artist Programs at Highpoint Center for Printmaking. He has never met a dog he didn’t like. joshbindewald.com REGISTRATION DETAILS Registration and…
