ASI’s Preschool Program creates opportunities for families to experience Swedish art, culture, and traditions together. Join us in January to explore the tradition of fika with Patrice Johnson. Preschoolers and their important grown-ups discover the joy of fika during this flavorful morning at ASI. Beloved Nordic Table and Cooking & Culture Camp instructor Patrice Johnson introduces participants to the foods, traditions, and stories behind this cherished Swedish custom. Together, preschoolers and their important grown-ups explore questions like, “What do Swedish families eat for fika?” and “Why do they do it?” Through hands-on activities, preschoolers decorate their own apron, take home recipes, and gather ideas for starting a fika tradition at home. Additional information: This program is designed specifically for children ages 3–5 and their important grown-ups. Museum admission is included with registration. Adult admission is included with child registration. Adult accompaniment is required. The program limits attendance to one adult per registered preschooler. Please arrive 15 minutes early so the program can begin promptly at 10 a.m. Register by December 30. ASI may cancel the program due to low registration.
