About this event

Not all journals are created equal, and some are actively trying to fool you. In this 30-minute workshop, we'll cover the warning signs of predatory publishers and how to spot them before they cost you time, money, or your work's credibility. You'll leave with practical tools to vet journals with confidence, so your research ends up in venues that actually serve you. During this workshop, you will learn how to: Assess journal credibility by evaluating website quality, editorial board legitimacy, and publication practices. Identify deceptive publishing practices, including misleading peer review claims, fake indexing, and unethical APCs. Apply trusted tools to verify journal legitimacy and make informed publishing decisions. Questions? Contact khaleedah.thomas@colostate.edu
