Last updated Jul 1, 2026Report incorrect info
This workshop is a hands-on introduction to making pottery hosted by one of our club members, Nathaniel. The workshop will include all tools and materials required to take a ball of clay to a finished product. (A 1.5 lb ball of clay, glazing, firing costs, etc.) as well as guided instruction. Class size will be limited to 6 folks to allow for hands on learning and focused instruction time. In the workshop, you will learn about the process of making pottery, get hands on time throwing clay on the wheel, and pick out a glaze for your creation! Nathaniel will then finish the process of drying, glazing, and firing your piece off-site and you will be able to pick up your finished product within 1-2 weeks. Non-member Pricing: $55 Club Member Pricing: $30. Each additional ball of clay is $15 (if you want to make multiple pieces). How to Pay: Venmo me, then text me at (919) 896-2349. Make sure to add a description and the date of the workshop so I know what it's for. Here is my Venmo: @Robert-Deaton-1 Note: This workshop fills up FAST. Simply rsvp'ing on Meetup does NOT reserve your spot. Payment reserves your spot. For active club members: After attending your first workshop, you will be allowed to return outside of structured workshops and make more pieces. Drop-in time is scheduled directly with Nathaniel, and costs $15 per session (includes 1.5lb ball of clay and glazing, firing costs). This is at a nominal rate in comparison to other pottery studios, as Nathaniel is hoping that his studio will become a third place for artists in this community to feel included and even wants you to bring and display your own art on his walls. (I have a couple photographs of my own hanging there!) If there's enough interest in this intro workshop, after a couple iterations, we will roll out a full class where you can learn and practice the entire process - throwing clay, glazing, firing, etc. **Exact location is provided after RSVP. It's on Glenwoodโฆ
