About this event
Join historian and Rosenwald School researcher, Deborah Hanson, for an educational presentation on a vital chapter of American History. The Rosenwald Schools represent one of the most significant educational initiatives in American history. Built through the partnership of African American communities, educator Booker T. Washington, and philanthropist Julius Rosenwald, these schools provided educational opportunities to thousands of African American children throughout the segregated South during the early twentieth century. This special presentation will explore the history, impact, and enduring legacy of the Rosenwald Schools while highlighting the importance of preserving these historic structures and the stories they represent. Free to museum members, $5 for non-members
