Plant a Story Workshop

About this event

This workshop for all ages, led by teaching artist Lucia Warck Meister, offers an intergenerational, hands-on arts experience rooted in Latin American cultural traditions. The session will begin with the sharing of folk tales from across the region, highlighting diverse narratives rich in cultural heritage and imagination. Following the storytelling component, participants will be invited to decorate a small plant pot using paint and visual elements inspired by the stories and their personal reflections. The workshop will conclude with a guided planting activity, where participants will fill their decorated pots with soil and seeds to take home. As participants nurture their plants, the workshop aims to foster a lasting connection to cultural storytelling, artistic expression, and environmental awareness. Please register for this program on this page. All children must be with an adult, so please do one registration per participant. Space is limited, latecomers will not be admitted, and walk-ins are not guaranteed. The program will take place in the 2nd floor meeting room.
