Please join the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra (PSO) for a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend concert full of tradition, beauty, and joy. **Concert Program** MASON BATES: New Work World premiere + PSO commission TCHAIKOVSKY: Piano Concerto No. 1 HAYDN: Symphony No. 60, “Il distratto” STRAUSS: Viennese Favorites **About this Performance** Celebrate Thanksgiving Weekend with one of Tchaikovsky’s most beloved piano concertos. Alexander Malofeev, one of the most exciting young pianists on the international stage and winner of the 2016 International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians, brings dazzling virtuosity to Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto. The program also features Haydn’s “Il Distratto”, a world premiere of a new work by Mason Bates, and concludes with a festive annual tradition of Maestro Honeck leading the PSO in waltzes and favorites from his homeland. **Meetup Considerations** 1. For those that wish to sit together, please gather at the Heinz Hall Box Office at 1:15 PM sharp so the group can buy tickets together and take advantage of any discounts (likely 25% off) that might be available. We expect people will pay around $25-$38 per tickets depending on whether they prefer to sit on the Orchestra Floor or Balcony. 2. People can bring cash so one person can place the order to speed up the ticketing process (once we have a firm headcount) so others can continue to socialize as much as possible before going inside Heinz Hall. 3. After getting the tickets together the group can go inside Heinz Hall for various pre-concert activities that include a pre-concert discussion, opportunity to meet several Pittsburgh Symphony musicians, and pre-concert performance in the Heinz Hall Lobby. People may also wish to grab a drink and get some great photos. 4. Please be mindful that it will be easier to meet new people in the group before Heinz Hall gets crowded. 5.
