Pisanky - Ukrainian Eggs

About this event

Learn the art of traditional Ukrainian egg decorating with Avon’s own Bonnie Deprez! Pysanky, which comes from the Ukrainian word “pysaty” meaning “to write”, dates back to pre-Christian times and involves art being “written” onto eggshells using wax and dyes. We are offering a series of six classes from October to March, covering many techniques and styles. All materials provided. All skill levels welcome! Come to one or all six classes! ***Construction is ongoing in the back yard! The back parking lot is currently unavailable. For a shorter time, the back entrance to the library (that opens into the children's room) will also be unavailable. The front and side doors are open, and parking is available on Genesee Street in front of the library or in the municipal lot across the street. Thank you for your patience! For updates, please check Avon Free Library's Facebook page, website at avonfreelibrary.org, or call the library at 585-226-8461. ***Construction has begun on the back yard!
