The Live Arts Toledo season begins with a grand celebration of Italian music as the Toledo Symphony takes The Peristyle stage. Verdi’s Overture to La forza del destino launches the evening in a burst of dramatic energy. Acclaimed baritone Sidney Outlaw then takes center stage in a selection of beloved Italian opera arias and expressive art songs, showcasing the passion, drama, and lyrical beauty of Italy’s rich vocal tradition. Respighi’s Pines of Rome closes the night with a sonic spectacle, building from distant echoes to the triumphant march of Roman legions returning along the Appian Way, a finale where the orchestra’s immense forces fill the hall and move through the audience, the kind of moment that makes live arts so powerful.
