Join us at the WOW Hall to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Warner Creek blockade! pickAxe is the story of Cascadia Free State, the year-long blockade stopping salvage logging in an arson-burned spotted owl sanctuary called Warner Creek. The blockade attracted forest activists from across the Cascadia bioregion and captured the imagination of the nation for its audacity, tenacity, and ingenuity in resisting lawless logging. Co-director Tim Lewis will introduce this longer, wilder, funnier version with never-before-seen action scenes. Tickets at the door on a sliding scale – $5-$50 – No one turned away for lack of funds! Presented in partnership with the Eugene Environmental Film Festival.
