Hoff-Barthelson Music School presents award-winning Italian pianist Christian Pastorino in recital, performing a program of works by Chopin, Schumann, Scriabin, and Liszt. The evening will showcase Pastorino’s artistry across some of the piano repertoire’s most expressive and virtuosic works. Grillen In der Nacht Fabel Traumes Wirren Ende vom Lied INTERMISSION Alexander Scriabin Valse in A-flat major, Op. 38 Deux Poèmes, Op. 32 Andante cantabile Allegro con eleganza, con fiducia Franz Liszt – Hungarian Rhapsody No. 12 in C-sharp minor Praised for his poetic lyricism, structural clarity, and expressive depth, Italian pianist Christian Pastorino is the First Prize winner of the 25th Franz Schubert International Competition (2025). The distinction marks a major milestone in his emerging international career and precedes his U.S. debut recitals in fall 2026. A laureate of the 2024 Paul Badura-Skoda Competition in Vienna and recipient of prizes at other international competitions, Pastorino has established himself as a versatile pianist with a repertoire spanning the Classical and High Romantic traditions through the vivid musical languages of the early twentieth century. His repertoire ranges from Mozart and Beethoven to Ravel and Prokofiev, reflecting both his affinity for the great Classical tradition and his interest in the diverse expressive worlds of later repertoire. Pastorino has performed extensively as a soloist and chamber musician, appearing in duo partnerships with violin and cello, in piano trios, and with larger ensembles. His engagements have taken him to leading Italian venues and festivals, including Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, the Vatican Museums in Rome, and the Ravenna Festival.
