Each session will be hosted by Dr. Aaron Meskin, Head of UGA’s Department of Philosophy. October 11th Meeting: Dr. Mike Zahorec (Department of Philosophy and Institute of Artificial Intelligence): “Can you convince a philosopher they are wrong about AI?” The upcoming meeting of the Philosophy Cafe will feature new Philosophy and AI lecturer, Mike Zahorec, asking the question “Can you convince a philosopher he is wrong about AI?” Do AI systems understand what they say? Could an AI be conscious? Do humans understand what we say? Are we conscious? At this event, participants will work together to convince a philosopher that his answers to these questions are wrong!
