Pecos Pueblo and Ancestral Sites Field Trip

Let’s take a field trip into New Mexico’s past. We’re heading to Pecos National Historical Park to explore the Ancestral Sites Trail and experience a place that tells centuries of New Mexico history. Along the way, we’ll see the remains of Pecos Pueblo, the Spanish mission church, reconstructed kivas, and other ancestral sites while learning about the people and cultures that shaped this area. We’ll take our time exploring, reading the exhibits, taking pictures, and enjoying the scenery. THE FIELD TRIP 🏛️ Destination: Pecos National Historical Park 🚗 Drive: About 1½ hours from Albuquerque 🥾 Ancestral Sites Trail: 1.2-mile loop ⛰️ Elevation Gain: About 82 feet 🟢 Difficulty: Easy 📸 What We'll See: Pecos Pueblo ruins, the Spanish mission church, ancestral sites, reconstructed kivas, and views of the surrounding area 💰 Cost: Free After we're finished exploring Pecos, we'll stop for lunch together before heading back to Albuquerque, so bring money for lunch. Wear comfortable shoes and bring water, sun protection, and layers appropriate for the weather. If you enjoy New Mexico history, archaeology, photography, exploring old places, or simply seeing somewhere new, come spend the day with us. We'll explore the ruins, learn a little history, grab some lunch, and enjoy a day outside Albuquerque. Never stop exploring.
