Palestine Film Series: ‘The Voice of Hind Rajab’ – April 26

The third annual Palestine Film Series returns to the Latchis Theatre with screenings of compelling, high-quality films about Palestinian culture, history, current issues and resistance, on four successive Sundays – April 12, 19 and 216, and May 3 – at 4:00pm. Audiences are invited to stay for moderated conversations after the films. The Voice of Hind Rajab is the focus on April 26. This hybrid of documentary and drama reconstructs the killing of a 5-year-old in Gaza using her real voice as she comes under bombardment. The film won the Grand Jury Prize at the Venice International Film Festival and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film. The series concludes on May 3 with a double feature – Aisha’s Story and Exception. Aisha’s Story is a documentary about a woman who preserves food traditions in exile. Exception documents a professor accused of antisemitism, who risks his career to uphold academic freedom. Admission to all the films is by donation. Masking is requested.
