Pottery With a Purpose brings its Make Your Own Oyster Plate workshop to Summer Shack Cambridge on Wednesday, September 16, 6:30 to 9 PM. You get a half dozen Summer Shack oysters to snack on while you build your plate, and a selection of ceramic glazes to personalize it. An experienced host guides the whole session: foundational hand-building techniques like pinch pots and coils, plus the finishing touches such as handles and texture. Clay, tools and materials are all provided. Your ticket includes glazing and two professional kiln firings for one piece, which is what makes the finished plate food-safe and waterproof. Pick white or clear ceramic glaze, then choose pickup or shipping. An upgrade is available if you want more than one piece fired. Laid-back and no-pressure: first-timers, solo guests and friend groups are all in the right room. Tickets are sold by Pottery With a Purpose.
