**This is a writing workshop that meets on the 4th Wednesday of every month at the Winter Park Library.** We focus on learning a new technique or method each month. A guest speaker will share a sample of their work and then give a writing prompt for everyone to follow. We'll all write for 30 minutes, and then share our work with others and receive helpful suggestions about what to improve. Bring your laptops, tablets, a notebook and pen, and a willingness to learn. This month, we are going to learn about stronger character development from Caitlin Cherniak. Thanks to Disney, morally good protagonists are easy to root for, but how far can you go for your character to test the morally gray or even dark waters? Come join us at Red Flag, Yellow Flag, Green Flag to craft your characters! Rather than making your characters sound like an extension of you, or making them all sound the same, learn how to find their identifying characteristics, their foibles, and their flaws. Caitlin Cherniak is a New Jerseyian poet, writer, and dreamer, spreading her creative wings in Central Florida. Caitlin has had her articles and poetry published in Rollins College’s magazine, The Independent, as well as the March/April 2019 issue of Down in the Dirt magazine. Her current project is to drop her first poetry collection titled *Being in Love at 13, Falling Out of Love at 20*, and Learning to Love at 30. She is also working on her debut novel, *Stand-Up Guy*.
