Come explore the POP Learning Orchard as part of Nature Night at the beautiful and historic Woodlands Cemetery in West Philly. Explore the food forest and berry garden. Try our Tree Finder Map to learn more about the specific tree varieties. The orchard will be open to visitors from 5:30-7:30pm. This event is free and open to the public. Directions, Map, and Accessibility Information for Visitors DIRECTIONS — Turn right after entering The Woodlands cemetery gates at 4000 Woodland Ave (orange star on map below). You'll find the orchard entrance (purple star) at the first intersection. Avoid parking in the turn by the orchard entrance. There needs to be room for a fire truck to make that turn in case of emergencies. — Park anywhere along the loop road (yellow squiggles) on the Woodlands campus. — Public transit is also available via the 40th St Trolley Portal on any line (T2, T3, T4, or T5, formerly known as the 34, 13, 11 or 36 lines) except the T1 (formerly known as the 10). Map: https://www.phillyorchards.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Woodlands-site-map.png ACCESSIBILITY — The sidewalks outside the site are made from historic brick. — The site landscape is made up of two miles of paved roads, as well as brick paths, and grass. — The distance from the front gate to the event space is approximately 1/8 mile (about a 2-3 minute walk, uphill) — An ADA, gender-neutral restroom is located at the Stable. — The distance from the front gate of the Learning Orchard to the restroom is about 1/10 of a mile (about a 2-minute walk) — There is a gradual slope as you walk further into the Learning Orchard and Pine Grove Area. (towards the gate near Woodland Ave.) — There are grassy uneven areas throughout the Learning Orchard and Pine Grove that tend to make one stumble as they walk. We encourage flat, stable footwear.
