This talk introduces the PH ReSTORE framework as a public health ethics approach to understanding how truth and power operate through trust, social connection, and community engagement. In a time of misinformation, loneliness, and declining institutional trust, public health must do more than provide accurate information; It must also help restore the relationships and conditions that give truth meaning in everyday life. Using examples drawn from current public discourse, the session explores who is heard, who is trusted, and what ethical responsibility institutions have in rebuilding credibility and connection. The talk aligns with this year’s Honors theme “Truth and Power” by inviting attendees to view truth not only as fact, but as something shaped by relationships, participation, and public accountability. This series is a collaboration between the Farquhar Honors Program and the Alvin Sherman Library. Each lecture highlights pressing topics from today's headlines, providing in-depth analysis and diverse perspectives.
