Open Art Studio: Alebrijes Sculptures with Linda Garcia

Meeting Room 102, 1st Floor. Discover the colorful world of alebrijes, the imaginative Mexican folk art sculptures known for their vibrant patterns and fantastical animal designs. In this hands-on program, led by local artist Linda Garcia, patrons will learn about the history and cultural significance of alebrijes before creating their own sculpture. Participants will then bring their creations to life using clay and other materials. All supplies provided. This is a free event for adults, teens, and kids. This craft is suitable for ages 5+ and younger participants are encouraged to complete the craft with an adult caregiver. Parents/caregivers must remain with their child(ren) for the duration of the program and are encouraged to help younger children with the activity. Registration is required and opens September 1.
