Old Gold Whiskey Launch | Valparaiso University x Journeyman Distillery

At the start of 2026, 20 College of Business students in Clinical Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship Dushan Nikolovski’s, M.S., capstone marketing and entrepreneurship class set out to create a brand that fully captured the essence, spirit, and story of Valpo – starting with the local businesses at the heart of our community. In collaboration with Valparaiso, Indiana, staple Journeyman Distillery, these students did just that. Queue Old Gold – the first Valparaiso University-branded whiskey. After months of market research on crucial details – brand name, labeling concepts, and price point – Professor Nikolovski’s team of students is ready to bring this uniquely Valpo product to the market. Join our students for the official launch of Old Gold at Journeyman Distillery on Tuesday, April 28, from 6–8 p.m. Attendees of all ages are welcome, with exclusive discounts for Valpo students. Free raffle included. The first 50 people can purchase a ticket for $40. Ticket includes admission, an OCG drink (if over 21), and a Valpo bottle. General admission tickets are $15. Every person purchasing this ticket will receive $10 toward purchasing the special Valpo bottle. Valpo student admission is $5.
