About this event
Explore the art of observational drawing with amazing collections from the Natural History Society of Maryland, a private nonprofit dedicated to conserving Maryland’s natural heritage and educating its citizens on the natural sciences since 1929. Learn more at marylandnature.org. Thanks to the traveling collections from the Natural History Society of Maryland and their generous volunteers, attendees can learn to draw from a range of specimens, including fossils, skulls, and pinned insects. We will begin with a graphite pencil, but there will be an opportunity to experiment with a range of mediums including colored pencils and watercolors. Drawing experience is not necessary and all skill levels are welcome. Attend any or all three of the programs. Each class is different and doesn’t support the others. Tuesday, September 29th, 6:00-7:30pm (butterflies and moths) Saturday, October 10th, 2:00-4:00pm (skulls) Friday, November 20th, 2:00-4:00pm (minerals)
