November Book Club: Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt

🐙❤️ November Book Club: Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt Books, cats…and now apparently an octopus. 😂🐱🐙📚 For November, The Well-Read Cat People of Orlando are diving into something a little different with Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt—a warm, funny, mysterious story about friendship, loss, second chances, and one remarkably intelligent giant Pacific octopus named Marcellus. After the death of her husband, Tova Sullivan begins working the night shift at the local aquarium. There she forms an unlikely friendship with Marcellus, who happens to be considerably more observant about the humans around him than they realize. Tova’s son mysteriously disappeared more than 30 years ago, and Marcellus may have figured out something that could finally help her uncover the truth. Yes. The octopus is investigating. 🐙🔎😂 Please read or listen to the entire book before we meet because we’ll be discussing ALL of it—including the ending! Come ready to talk about Tova, Cameron, Marcellus, the mysteries connecting everyone, the moments that made you laugh, the ones that got you right in the heart, and whether Marcellus might actually be better at understanding people than people are. 😂 This still isn’t English class! No pop quizzes. No right answers. No pressure to deliver some profound literary analysis. We want your actual opinion—what you loved, what you didn’t, what surprised you, and what you saw completely differently from everyone else. 🐱 YOUR $16 RSVP RESERVES YOUR SPOT WITH THE CATS!
