Novel November: Teen Creative Writing Series

About this event

For years people have tried to accomplish the task of writing a full 50,000 word novel in the month of November, and now it's your turn! This series will help you through the process of getting 50,000 words written no matter if you're writing fiction, a memoir, poetry, or even fanfiction. October 26: Preparation - we'll do some practice writing, talk outlining vs. "pantsing" (flying by the seat of your pants), and how to churn out all those words in a short time! November 2: Writing sprints! We'll have snacks and lo-fi music playing and write as much as we can as fast as we can for almost an hour, then we'll talk about where we're at, how many words we have done. November 9: Another bout of writing sprints for 45 minutes, then we'll talk about where we're at and what we plan to do through the next few weeks until we see each other again! November 30: Wrap up time! We'll do 30 minutes of writing and then celebrate how much we got done (even if its not the full 50,000 words)! For teens 13 to 18.
