Join Slow Burn founder Sara Wait for a hands-on workshop centered around the art of dipping beeswax taper candles, using an age-old method of candle making still practiced across Nordic cultures. Using local materials, each participant will learn the traditional method of hand dipping pure beeswax taper candles: slowly building layers of beeswax onto cotton wicks, one dip at a time, until the tapers reach their full form. Each participant will make and take home a pair of 12″ taper candles, perfect for gifting or adding a warm, handmade touch to their home. No prior experience is necessary, just a willingness to slow down and enjoy the rhythm of the wax. Additional information: A $35 materials fee is payable to the instructor in class and covers materials for a pair of 12” taper candles. Additional finished tapers might also be available to purchase, depending on the number of students in the class. Prerequisites: Skill level: Open to all skill levels. Ages: Suitable for ages 18+.
