Come dressed in your best macabre couture as we dive deep into Warhol’s darker side for a night of eerie revelry, but help us protect our collection. No masks, wings, tails or other props that could bump the artwork. This celebration sold out last year. Don’t miss out. VIP tickets include two free drink tickets and an exclusive VIP-only hour from 7-8 p.m. In his Death and Disaster series, Warhol explored the impact of images taken out of a journalistic context and framed, through repetition, as works of art. Some of the photographs that Warhol chose as source images for this series depict horrific scenes. Others focus on a narrative that may not be obvious, but is symbolic of death and disaster nonetheless, such as the Electric Chair and Jackie series. In all of these works, Warhol repeated images to mirror the repetition evident in society through media and technology.
