Night Hike through Sodalis Nature Preserve

This is the time of year when the more than 250,000 Indiana bats are migrating back to the mine to spend the winter. This is also when they also mate. It’s the best time to see the bats around the mine openings and we might count 100-200 at dusk at one of the gates. Remember there’s at least 34 gates around the mine and probably a few other places where the bats can come in and out so we’re lucky if we do see about a hundred. The full program is approximately 2 hours and covers a 2 mile paved loop with a steep incline. Participants have the option to return sooner as desired. Please register as space is limited.
