Nigerian Independence Day, celebrated annually on October 1st, marks the moment Nigeria became a sovereign nation in 1960. It’s a day of patriotism, cultural pride, and community gatherings. Nigerians wear green and white attire, wave the national flag, and participate in parades, prayers, dances, and speeches honoring the country’s history and future. The celebration includes music, traditional food, and reflections on unity and progress. For many, it’s a joyful reminder of freedom and a call to build a stronger, more peaceful nation.
